Horse Racing Preview -Fakenham, Perth & Listowel – 4th June 2017

Horse Racing Preview - Bath - 2nd October 2017

Today’s horse racing preview comes from three meetings, Fakenham, Perth and Listowel. That was a hard couple of days, and we see the biggest price Derby winner at 40/1 for 43 years, good old O’Brien pulling the wool over our eyes, he must know who’s going to stay and who’s not.

The only horse to take out of the race is Cracksman who for me would get the trip again, but the way he travelled into the race at the quarter pole suggests hopefully they drop him back to 10f.

14.10 Listowel – Irish Stallions Farm European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden (6.1f)

I put up a horse this week from Jessica Harrington’s stables in Whitefountainfairy who absolutely bolted up at Fairyhouse. That particular maiden looks to have potential on future winners, back in tenth just four and a half lengths was Ballet Box.

Now like her stablemate she found all sorts of problems in running within the race, but with the past blog winner I would like to presume that the trainer sends only this entry to the courier today.

If by any standards she fails once more, I am now finding it hard to get her beat. Joseph O’Brien has the second favourite here in Dowhatisay who was long way back on debut at Navan, yard in good form, but not for me.

Gordon Elliott has always done well around both codes and saddles the likely favourite here in Monkeylou. He has big pattern engagements on the calander this year such as the Phoenix Stakes, but again being by Dream Ahead this could be too sharp for him.today.

Ballet Box : 2pt win @ 6/1 (BOG) NAP

14.15 Perth – Gateway To The Highlands Novices Hurdle (20f)

A forward looking type I like here is Air Squadron who was trained on the flat by Ralph Beckett. The five time winner had good success around 0-85 handicaps. Since arriving at Tom George’s his opening run was encouraging when runner up to a nice type from Paul Nicholas yard.

This looks the right thing to do now stepping him up to just shy of two and a half miles, he could give Lady Cobham a lot of fun over the summer.

Irish raider Jimmy Breekie has not shown me enough to suggest a win is imminent but with bumper winner Golden Jeffrey who has won twice at Scottish tracks this year at Ayr and Kelso, is a major player here.

Air Squadron : 2pt win @ 9/2 (BOG)

15.00 Fakenham – Kings Lynn Audi Maiden Hurdle (16f)

I put forward Harry Skelton’s Coroberee twice now and both times has been missing at the party. I can’t fathom this horse out, such potential on board but has failed to bring it to the table .

This afternoon he is not going to get a better opportunity to get his first win over hurdles. I’ve looked at the prospects of it being beaten, I cannot find anything than looks remarkably close.

Coroberee : 2pt win @ 7/2 (BOG)
